As a result of two acquisitions, this global manufacturer’s distribution had become complicated
and expensive. There were three main issues: increased costs for the handling and transportation
of their oversized products; limited access to the tracking information that their customers required
on inbound shipments; and customers demanding more customized “value-added” solutions.

Stevens Flex-Ship™ approach improved their entire logistics program:

1. Resolved the priority transportation challenges that were at hand. We
    developed packaging solutions that reduced their “oversize” charges,
    reduced outbound shipping charges by implementing time definite
    services, and by utilizing our buying power, Stevens reduced their
    current transportation costs by 15%.

2. To meet their customer service needs, we assigned a dedicated
    Stevens Special Accounts Team to handle all their shipments, which
    proactively tracked each shipment behind the scenes to ensure all
    SOPs are followed. Using Stevens’ online Customer Tools, the client
    accessed real-time tracking and reporting information.

3. With Flex-Ship services, they became able to seamlessly include
    “value-added” solutions. Kitting programs put a complete parts kit
    onto one skid, saving their US factories valuable production time.

4. To improve their distribution, Stevens consolidated their 3 existing
    warehouses, setting up one dedicated Distribution Center on the west
    coast (having it operational within two months). Two additional smaller
    DCs were set-up and handled by their local Stevens offices.

As their single source logistics provider, Stevens reduced their current transportation

Team. Their warehousing costs were reduced by consolidating existing warehouses.
